AI4C

Following the successful Charity IT Award in 2018, the WCIT set up a Learning Exchange on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) in the Charity Sector - AI4C. The aim is to support the two Award Winners, CALM and Missing People with their AI projects, but also to ensure their experiences, the impact of the WCIT's funding and the expertise within the the WCIT's membership can benefit other charities.

AI4C was set up by and reports to the WCIT Charity Board.

The WCIT Charity

The WCIT and its Charity see technology as a force for good. In 2018 the WCIT Charity offered its first ever Charity IT Award to champion the transformative power of IT to help charities have a bigger impact on people''s lives. Faced with the rising call and online chat volumes and with insufficient resources to meet beneficiary need, both charities are developing chatbots supported by Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to prioritise the calls and increase the number of enquiries successfully handled. CALM and Missing People were the founding charity members of AI4C
